Not sure we're in the last days? Wait till oil is found in Israel.
So far the search for oil has been on the Dead Sea area. Maybe when the search moves to "Joseph's portion", great amounts of oil will be found in Israel. Let's watch...

Look at map where circled. Where can Asher "dip his foot into oil"
that is also by the crown of Joseph (between his sons Manasseh and Ephraim)?
Now look at Deuteronomy 33:25, speaking of Asher:
25 Thy shoes shall be iron and brass; and as thy days, so shall thy strength be.
What are made of iron and brass so not to cause sparks? Oil derricks. That's
what.
Note: Asher's land was both Tyre, Lebanon and Haifa. Wouldn't it be funny of the

Will the Israeli's ever give up Gaza completely?
Proven Gas Reserves already found off the coast of Gaza and Ashkelon: 3.5 trillion cubic feet.
What if Israeli's and/or American companies searching there had to go down 14,000-20,000 feet to find it. In that case it just may be the "mother load" under Arab oil fields and actually drain off Arab oil fields--coming from below their fields. This would be especially if the Israeli's finally find it in the Dead Sea, which is already 1,349 ft or so below sea level.
They've (like Haystack Stephens and his Son after Haystack died--and other U.S. companies) been looking for it in the Dead Sea for an awful long time now. Partly because in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah there were Asphalt/heavy oil/bitumen pools/slime pits in the area. The asphalt was used as mortar between bricks and probably to water proof boats. See bible references. In the days of Sodom and Gomorrah the area where the Dead Sea is was called the Valley of Siddim.
Others like Gilman Hill, Andy Sorelle, Jr., and Canadian Lyle Harron have been searching in Israel for an awful long time now. Hill invested $6 million at a drill site near Mount Carmel way back in the 1970's. Sorelle also drilled during the 1980's, on the Mediterranean, and spent millions on various leases throughout Israel. Harron spent nearly a decade at a Netanya lease, just north of Tel Aviv. Even the late Armand Hammer was dedicated to finding "black gold" offshore in the Mediterranean.
Genesis 14:10

What if Israel finds the "mother load" and undercuts Russia when supplying oil
to Europe and the U.S.?
Russia is placing so much on their oil that they would be set back 20 yrs if
that happened. Even with its declining population that is 1/2 the U.S.
population, Russia is so full of pride that it dreams of using its oil to be the
world's "Superpower".
