Revelation 8:10-11
And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters; And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.
The 3rd trumpet:
Will a great star named Wormwood in the bible strike unexpectedly during the night?
Will the noise cause terror over a wide area; and Rome will be completely destroyed by the impact explosion? Is this what the prophecy of Malachy had in mind about "Peter the Roman" when he said; "In the final persecution of the Holy Roman Church there will reign Petrus Romanus, who will feed his flock amid many tribulations; after which the seven-hilled city will be destroyed and the dreadful Judge will judge the people. The End."
Was Saint Hildegard (12th Century) speaking of America in the following prophecy?
Before the comet comes, many nations, the good excepted, will be scourged by want and famine. The great nation in the ocean that is inhabited by people of different tribes and descent will be devastated by earthquake, storm, and tidal wave. It will be divided and, in great part, submerged. That nation will also have many misfortunes at sea and lose its colonies.
[After the] great Comet, the great nation will be devastated by earthquakes, storms, and great waves of water, causing much want and plagues. The ocean will also flood many other countries, so that all coastal cities will live in fear, with many destroyed.
All sea coast cities will be fearful, and many of them will be destroyed by tidal waves, and most living creatures will be killed, and even those who escape will die from a horrible disease. For in none of those cities does a person live according to the Laws of God.
A powerful wind will rise in the North, carrying heavy fog and the densest dust, and it will fill their throats and eyes so that they will cease their butchery and be stricken with a great fear.
And what of this prophecy by Johannes Friede (1204-1257):
When the great time will come, in which mankind will face its last, hard trial, it will be foreshadowed by striking changes in nature. The alteration between cold and heat will become more intensive, storms will have more catastrophic effects, earthquakes will destroy great regions, and the seas will overflow many lowlands. Not all of it will be the result of natural causes, but mankind will penetrate into the bowels of the earth and will reach into the clouds, gambling with its own existence. Before the powers of destruction will succeed in their design, the universe will be thrown into disorder, and the age of iron will plunge into nothingness.
When nights will be filled with more intensive cold and days with heat, a new life will begin in nature. The heat means radiation from the earth, the cold the waning light of the sun. Only a few years more and you will become aware that sunlight has grown perceptibly weaker. When even your artificial light will cease to give service, the great event in the heavens will be near.
AND this prophecy by "The Ecstatic of Tours" (19th Century)
Before the war breaks out again, food will be scarce and expensive. There will be little work for the workers, and fathers will hear their children crying for food. There will be earthquakes and signs in the sun. Toward the end, darkness will cover the Earth. When everyone believes that peace is ensured, when everyone least expects it, the great happening will begin. Revolution will break out in Italy almost at the same time as in France.

What do we make of Joshua 10?
The ancient Mayans were "given" a 5000 Year Calendar by their god, Quezecoatal. The Calendar ends on DEC 22 2012 as The "Year of Doomsday". Was this Calendar Extra-Terrestrial and does it end because of a Comet impact?
COMET PLANET
The ancient world of Sumer to Babylon were "taught" by their gods about The Comet Planet, called "Nibiru". This is a massive Comet Planet, believed to pass earth every 3600 years, coming thru the Asteroid Belt between Jupiter and Mars.
In Joshua 10:12-14:
we read of "A day of 24 hours, when the earth stood still". This could have been caused by the passing of the Comet Planet. Its gravitational pull could have reversed spun Earth on its axis, creating a day of 24 hours. If we take the Mayan year of 2012 AD and subtract 3600 years (orbit of Comet Planet) we get 1588 BC, around the time of Joshua and the "day earth stood still".
Joshua 10:11-14 reads:
And it came to pass, as they fled from before Israel, and were in the going down to Bethhoron, that the LORD cast down great stones from heaven upon them unto Azekah, and they died: they were more which died with hailstones than they whom the children of Israel slew with the sword.
Then spake Joshua to the LORD in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon.
And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.
And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the LORD hearkened unto the voice of a man: for the LORD fought for Israel.
