Matthew :34

“Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. (35) For I have come to turn “‘a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law–(36) a man's enemies will be the members of his own household.’

At first, this seems like a very strange thing for Jesus to say. After all, isn’t he the “Prince of Peace?” Yes, our Lord is indeed the Prince of Peace. In him, is our peace, and salvation. Because man loves sin, he clings to the darkness of this world rather than light of Jesus. We can not serve two masters. We will love the one, and hate the other. Jesus knew for man to make a choice between him, and this world would bring no peace. Isn’t that exactly what we’re seeing in the world today? Many children have become disobedient, and resentful towards their parents. As children of God’s creation, many are disobedient, and resentful towards God, the heavenly Father. The rage of man is quickening.

The “Rapture” is a some what difficult subject to discuss because so many different people and denominations of the church believe so many different things. The Holy Bible does not speak of any "rapture." It speaks of a resurrection at the time of the one and only return of Jesus Christ. That will happen at "the last trump," the last trumpet, and they will all, that same day, be on earth - not to hide, but to rule "with a rod of iron."

"But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with Him. For this we say unto you by the Word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet The Lord in the air" (1 Thessalonians 4:13-17 KJV)

Those who think that God's end-time people will be "raptured" to a place of safety ought to very carefully consider what the Holy Bible actually says about the terrible persecution that God says His people will face. The only "place of safety" that God's people have ever had, or will ever have, is obedience to Him. God's people are those who obey Him, who live by His Word, not their own. The obedient to God are then safe from the wrath of God - but subject to the wrath of man, which in the immediate future means the end-time political/ religious "beast" who will "make war with the saints" and "overcome them":

"And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them ... He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints." (Revelation 13:7,10 KJV)

Matthew (17)“Be on your guard against men; they will hand you over to the local councils and flog you in their synagogues. (18) On my account you will be brought before governors and kings as witnesses to them and to the Gentiles. (19)But when they arrest you, do not worry about what to say or how to say it. At that time you will be given what to say, (20)for it will not be you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.

Matthew (26)“So do not be afraid of them. There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known. (27)What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight; what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the roofs. (28)Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. (29)Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father. (30)And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. (31)So don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
